1. Individual direct casework with young people

UsePsychology delivers consultation, assessment and intervention to support high quality education through collaboration with all relevant adults, including parents/carers as well as young people themselves as appropriate. Assessment is contextualised, taking place in the home, school or other learning environment. A variety of assessment tools are used, including dynamic assessment to investigate the level of adult mediation required to work within the young person’s zone of proximal development. A full range of topics can be covered including social, emotional, behavioural as well as learning needs.

2. Consultation for teachers on specific areas of difficulty (unnamed consultation)

UsePsychology offers consultation to teachers for specific issues arising within the classroom, where no  young person is named, and therefore no case notes are taken or held for individual students. This can be helpful for teachers who want advice or coaching around a specific problem without needing the involvement of an educational psychologist directly with the young person or family. Often, teachers want to discuss topics around classroom management, or need support to think over experimentation with a new approach. Teachers may also be looking for support for their own wellbeing, advice on responses to bereavement and critical incidents.

3. Group work in schools with students and/or parents/carers and/or staff

UsePsychology offers interactive workshops for groups of primary and secondary students on:
